The suspended cornerback of the Tennessee Titans will make his debut Thursday night on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Suspended for the entire 2007 NFL season for violating the league's personal conduct policy, the troubled Jones signed a contract with TNA Wrestling on Monday. Jones' first appearance comes Thursday on Impact, which will be televised on Spike TV at 9 p.m. EDT. He also is scheduled to appear on TNA's "Hard Justice" pay-per-view event on Sunday. It is uncertain what role Jones will have with TNA, although he is not expected to wrestle since it would be a violation of his NFL contract. "I am a big fan of wrestling, so I wanted to give it a try," Jones said Monday on TNA's web site. "I respect wrestling and I'm not coming in like it's just a show. I want to prove that I am the greatest team-sport athlete." NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones for the season on April 10 for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He could be eligible for reinstatement after 10 games, although that seems unlikely. In June, Jones surrendered to Las Vegas police on felony charges in a brawl at a strip club that preceded a triple shooting. In the February 19 shooting at the Minxx strip club, Jones and members of his entourage were involved in a melee that led to a shooting in which a man ended up with a severed spinal cord. Since being drafted sixth overall in 2005, Jones has been arrested six times. He never has been convicted on of any crime. Jones will be the second member of the Titans to step into the TNA ring. In June, Pro Bowl defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch was in the the corner of former Titans' Pro Bowl tight end Frank Wycheck for a tag-team match.
