Jerry Jones gets teased over his breakdancing spot Posted: Saturday August 11, 2007 7:28PM; Updated: Saturday August 11, 2007 7:28PM IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Have you seen the commercial featuring Jerry Jones breakdancing? The Dallas Cowboys have, and they're having a lot of fun razzing the team owner about it. "I guess that destroys the myth that white people can't dance," Terrell Owens said with a smile. "I haven't seen him do that before -- and I hope I don't see him do it again," cracked coach Wade Phillips. The 30-second commercial opens with Jones in the locker room giving the team a harsh lecture against dancing in the end zone when he's interrupted by a pizza delivery for him. Jones turns, smiles and starts shimmying to the music, his limbs seemingly turning to jelly. He looks even more limber than he did a few years ago when he did backflips in another commercial. "That's why I got the job, they knew I could dance," Jones said Saturday, laughing. Alas, Jones admits to having used a body double in both ads. He notes that the head and shoulders are really his in the new one, which was shown often during the local broadcast of the Cowboys' preseason opener Thursday night. "I've had more ragging over that than most things," Jones said. "I've had a lot of offers for lessons. I didn't know I would do it -- and I don't know if I would do it again. The good news is, it's selling some pizza." The ad is for Papa John's, which Jones said the Cowboys are "directly involved" in the ownership of nearly 100 stores in Dallas and Austin. "That's why I'm doing it," he said. There was one tepid comment in the locker room: Quarterback Tony Romo saying only, "He's got pretty good feet." Then again, Romo is negotiating a new contract, so it makes sense to stay on the boss' good side. |

I saw that commercial it was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. It just makes Jerry look a little more human. All we ever see of him is the stiff owner that he portrays to the media. You never really see him smiling unless the Boyz are winning. |
