The resident Cowboys Chick Posts: 648 Group: SUPER MOD SQUAD Member #211 Joined: February 18, 2007	Gretzky getting paid while MIA One thing that we've never quite gotten a handle on during this whole soap opera involving the Coyotes and their bankruptcy proceedings is just why Wayne Gretzky isn't coaching the team. Especially, you know, because he's getting paid. Jeff Holbrook, the Coyotes executive vice president and chief communications officer, confirmed that Gretzky is collecting his salary, which reportedly pays him $8 million a season. But he said Gretzky has always taken his money over 12 months and not just during the season like most coaches to help with cash flow. Arizona Republic
