Brown underwent sports hernia surgery in late August and then followed it up with an early September hip surgery. He was originally expected to return around mid-season. Brown obviously wasn't missed in the first two games, but his fill-in Jermon Bushrod injured his ankle against a pressuring Bills defense in Week 3. The Saints' best lineman, Brown is a free agent after the season and will likely be brought back on a relatively cheap, short-term deal. RW: Saints place LT Jammal Brown on IR Hard loss for the Saints. They thought he might be back by mid-season but now they have to be without him for all of the 2009 season.

Also, it looks like his back up Jerrod Bushrod will also be out this Sunday. Going up against the Jets D will be tough with 2 left tackles out. Sean Payton is pretty creative in finding ways to provide extra support in these situations. Hopefully, he can reach into his bag of tricks and keep the Jets out of Brees' face.

Yeah it will be hard going 16 weeks without Brown. At least so far the Saints have looked good without him. I agree it will be a tough game vs the Jets this Sunday.
