INDIANAPOLIS -- Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed said Saturday that he's "50-50" on whether he will retire or return to the Baltimore Ravens for another NFL season.

Reed, 31, admits that Baltimore's 20-3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts stings and that he doesn't want to make an emotional decision. But after dealing with a serious neck injury for the past few seasons, Reed said that retirement is an option.

"It's 50-50," Reed said. "I got great doctors that I deal with. So I'm going to re-evaluate things and see how it goes. ... At the end of the day, it's my decision to play with injuries going forward for my career."

Man I'd hate to see my boy Ed Reed walk away. I've loved watching him play from his years at Miami to his career with the Ravens. He may be my favorite player of all time just because I got to follow him from his senior year in high school all the way up til now.

Even though I been a Ravens fan since they came into the league and drafted Ray Lewis with their first pick, if and when he and Ed Reed decide to call it quits my love for the Ravens my drop a bit. I love the team because of their style of play. Always aggressive, always hard hitting and always a great defensive team. Plus having 4 Miami Hurricanes with Ray and Ed being my two all time favorites along with the late Sean Taylor.

I really hope to see both Ed Reed and Ray Lewis come back for a few more years, I really wanna see Ed get a Super Bowl ring. As for Derrick mason, it wouldn't surprised me if he decided to go ahead and retire this time. He's been a great player for Baltimore and hopefully if he does decide to call it quits we will actually make an attempt to get a playmaking WR.
